If you’re a college student
looking for an exciting, hands-on experience in radio, 1410AM
Radio is
offering internships for college credits within the promotions/marketing
department! Work with real radio professionals on real radio projects
as you network, build your resume, and gain valuable experience you
won’t find in a classroom!
Department: Promotions/Marketing/New Technologies
Reports to: Human Resources, Promotions Directors, and Promotions Coordinator
Prerequisites: College
students applying for an internship must be able to receive credit from
their college or university for this unpaid internship. After being accepted
into the Program, and before they can begin the internship, students
must provide a letter on their college or university’s letterhead
stating that they will receive credit for this internship.

Essential Internship Functions: Assist the Promotions Department
in all aspects of radio promotions, which may include but is not limited
to:
-
Attending stations events (non-alcohol events);
-
Interacting with listeners
and general public;
-
Database management; listener correspondence; compiling
winner information, and filing appropriately;
-
Inclusion in the pre-event
creative process;
-
Maintaining station prize storage; managing inventory;
-
Creating contest
entry forms, etc;
-
Carrying and maintaining equipment,
-
Providing support to on-air talent
and sales staff, including the new technologies/ website department;
-
Assisting
production department with recording of commercials; possible voiceovers;
and
-
Other duties as assigned
